In what seems like mission impossible for a long while now, through an Annual General Meeting AGM today , organized by the Association of Licensed Customs Agents ANLCA settles their 5years old crisis and embrace peace in order to progress and recover lost glory . The peace broker event was chaired by the Chairman of the Council For the Regulation Of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria Alhaji Abubakar Tsanni at Eko Hotels and suites in Lagos.
The Chairman of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Alhaji Abubakar Tsanni angrily withdrawn the license of the Association (ANLCA) until the association’s give peace a chance.
In the AGM/reconciliation meeting Prince Taye Oyeniyi stepped down as member of BoT, and the act earns him the post of patron and was decorated immediately with applause from members.
CRFFN Chairman, Tsanni openly announced the withdrawal of the licence of the ANLCA from the Council until peace is attained.
Tsanni also further noted that he would remain in the hall with all participating members at the AGM till tomorrow until peace is embraced.
Few minutes later, following the rowdiness and successful swearing in of the 8-man BoT, Tsanni returned the Association’s certificate to the Acting President, Dr. Kayode Farinto.
He also revealed that after the 5-hour meeting with the Mustapha-led BoT and the Farinto-led executives, Prince Taiye Oyeniyi willingly decided to step down as BoT member of the association.
The newly inaugurated eight (8) BOT members are; Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, Dayo Azeez, Sir Ernest Elochukwu, Sir Dennis Okafor, Prince Ozo Chukwura, Alhaji Shamsideen Awopeju, Kingsley Offor and Mr. Eniola Igbaruola.
Speaking at the event was Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha , he appealed to all aggrieved members of the association to embrace peace.
“Whatever was brought to the table today was out of being magnanimous. It has been a situation of give and take. We must have the spirit of forgiveness. This ANLCA will be great again,” Mustapha said.
Earlier, the acting President, Farinto also beckoned on all members of the association to accept the new arrangement but opined that the powers of the BoT in ANLCA should be reduced.
Farinto observed that despite the differences between both parties, there is no doubt that leaders in the other party have contributed immensely to the growth of the association.
