In the year tagged with the theme , “The Year of the Stakeholders” which incidentally aligns with the theme for the International Customs Day “Customs Engaging Traditional and New Partners with Purpose”. It’s also in tandem with the fundamental pillars of the Comptroller General of Customs, *vision of Collaboration, Consolidation and Innovation.*
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Tincan Island Command has recorded a total collection of two hundred and thirty billion, three hundred and two million, seven hundred and forty-three thousand, twenty three naira, forty seven kobo (N240,302,743,023.47) for the period of January 2024 till date.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the command , Comptroller Dera Nnadi made it known while addressing the media in the command’s conference room on Friday 15th of March 2024 at Tincan Island in Lagos.
The CAC revealed that the command has recorded 49.71% increase in the area of revenue generation between January and February when compared to the corresponding year 2023, while the month of March is already loading in same manner.
Comptroller Nnadi affirmed that the command anti-smuggling drive has not relented its efforts in any way as it is known to be the lead agency in the port, the Enforcement unit has coordinated several 100% physical examination under his supervision in collaboration with critical stakeholders to ensure that the command is freed of any form of noncompliance to international trade.

(b) Twenty-three packets weighing 23kg of substance confirmed to be heroine.

iii. Marked blue Saphire— Eight (8) packets of 1kg each = 8kg
iv. Marked 777 Bentley— Two (2) packets of 1kg each=2kg

xiii. One (1) wooden crate containing a motorized toy car.

xv. One (1) used Samsung refrigerator.
xvi. Four (4) sets of used sound systems.
xvii. One (1) used barbecue grill.

xix. Three (3) used blenders.
xx. Sixteen (16) bags containing used clothes and personal effects.
He sincerely commended the continuous support of the CGC, Bashir Adeniyi MFR and the management team from the headquarters, which he termed as significant and has being enhancing the Command’s operational activities that contributes largely to its achievements.
He also used the medium to appreciate and commended the efforts of all officers in rank and file for their dedication that has being highly impressive.
He further more shown appreciation and emphasized that the efforts of the CIU operatives, Customs Police, Enforcement Unit, amongst other units and all other sister security agencies and most importantly the media for their prompt and precise coverage.
