MWUN Honors Two Distinguished Personalities In The Port Sector, Engr Onari Brown and Dr. Charles Bamidele Okaga,

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria ( MWUN) has organized a reception and it was held at the National Secretariat at Olodi Apapa, in Lagos. The event was attended by principal officers and members of the MWUN from various units nationwide.

In his remarks, MWUN President-General Comrade Adewale Adeyanju praised the duo for their commitment to the welfare of dock workers and their support for the Union. He commended Onari Brown for his leadership and assistance to the Union, noting that he is the second Executive Director to visit the Union since its inception. Adeyanju also praised Okaga for his passion, peaceful nature, and expertise in cargo management.

 

Adeyanju emphasized that the current MWUN has undergone significant reforms, transforming dock workers into professionals who can hold their heads high anywhere. He expressed the Union’s readiness to collaborate with the new Managing Director of the NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, and urged him to prioritize matters concerning dock workers.

In their responses, Dr. Charles Bamidele Okaga and Engr Onari Brown expressed gratitude for the honor and commended Adeyanju for his transformative leadership. Okaga acknowledged the Union’s progress and its role in promoting the welfare of dock workers, while Onari Brown urged the Union to maintain a strong relationship with the new NPA MD.

The event was a testament to the strong partnership between the MWUN and the NPA, and the commitment of both organizations to the welfare of dock workers and the growth of the port sector.
