The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) will share its findings on the recent helicopter crash off Bonny Finima with the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

The crash, which occurred on October 24, claimed several lives. An inter-agency collaboration involving NIMASA, the Nigerian Navy, and other local and international partners successfully recovered the black box.

NIMASA Director-General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, praised the swift and well-coordinated response. “We’ll report our findings to the IMO via the Global Integrated Shipping Information System, demonstrating Nigeria’s commitment to transparency and cooperation.”

The recovered black box and over 80% of the wreckage will aid investigations. NIMASA has extended condolences to the families of the victims and reaffirmed its dedication to maritime safety.
