The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has introduced simplified export processes, providing a significant boost to traders and investors.
Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, made the announcement at the Kaduna International Trade Fair, highlighting the NPA’s commitment to facilitating trade and economic growth.
The simplified export processes are designed to eliminate bureaucratic overlaps and duplications that previously hindered Nigerian exports.
The NPA has established Export Process Terminals (EPTs) to serve as one-stop-shops for cargo consolidation, documentation, and certification.
Key Features of the Simplified Export Processes:
One-Stop-Shop: EPTs will provide a single platform for exporters to access all necessary services.
Electronic Call-U : EPTs will facilitate quick turnaround times for shipments.
Port-Hinterland Connectivity: EPTs will be linked with Domestic Export Warehouses (DEWs) to facilitate trade.
Automation: The NPA is pursuing full automation of its processes through the Ports Community System (PCS) and the National Single Window (NSW).
Dr. Dantsoho emphasized that these measures will connect local value producers with international clusters of demand, promoting economic growth and prosperity.
The NPA’s efforts align with the Federal Government’s ease of doing business orientation and the Kaduna Trade Fair’s theme of promoting efficiency through digital transformation .
