The former President General of the Maritime Workers Union (MWUN) and current Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Prince Adewale Adeyanju has once again demonstrated his commitment to giving back to the community.
Prince Adeyanju the sponsor of the games and sports began the initiative in 2024 and since then been constituent to the self acclaimed assistant. Although he was unavoidably absent to do the donations of cash and medals to the Corps members but was ably represented by the branch treasurer of the Union, Comrade Oluwole Micheal Adetumi .
His words: “On behalf of Prince Adewale Adeyanju, who couldn’t attend today, I promise to continue supporting our corps members with cash donations and medals. We believe in their potential and are committed to motivating them to excel. Let’s look forward to a brighter future for our youth!”
The event took place ton the 17th August 2025 at the National Youth Corps Service Camp at Iyana Ipaja in Lagos state.
The State Coordinator Mrs Christiana Salmwang expressed gratitude towards Prince Adeyanju’s gesture and encouragement towards the youth .
She pleaded to the general society to emulate Prince Adeyanju’s efforts to see that the youth are given the necessary support needed as a succor for a better landing in the labour market.
The state Coordinator stated that the games and sports event for the Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members Lagos chapter, “brings joy and excitement to the young corps members”.
The event, which was held at the camp sports complex, featured a range of games and sports, including football, basketball, and table tennis. The corps members participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
Cash and Medals Donation
