The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has approved the appointment of four Deputy Comptroller-Generals (DCGs) and twelve Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs) in a bid to strengthen the Service’s leadership structure.
The appointments were made to fill vacancies created by recent retirements and ensure equitable representation across the six geopolitical zones.

Promotions
The Board also approved the promotion of 3,312 senior officers across various ranks, with an additional 202 junior officers promoted from Assistant Inspector (AIC) to Customs Assistant I (CA1).
These promotions underscore the Service’s commitment to merit-based career progression and recognition of outstanding performance .
Revenue Performance
The NCSB reviewed the Service’s revenue performance for the first half of the year, recording a total revenue collection of N3.68 trillion.
This figure surpassed the projected revenue for the period by N390.2 billion (11.85%), representing 55.93% of the annual target .
Trade Modernisation Project
The Board acknowledged notable achievements in the Service’s Trade Modernisation Project, including the deployment of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) codenamed B’Odogwu and the arrival of six scanners to boost non-intrusive inspection.
