The Lekki Free Trade Zone Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded a significant revenue growth, generating N459 billion from January to August 2025.

The Command’s cumulative revenue has reached N358 billion, with the Lekki Deep seaport contributing significantly to this growth.
Since its inception in April 2023, the port has generated N459 billion, showcasing its potential as a major maritime hub in Nigeria and the West African sub-region .
Leadership Transition
Comptroller Olanrewaju Olumoh, the outgoing Area Controller, expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for entrusting him with the leadership of the Command.
He highlighted notable seizures, including containers of tramadol and unapproved pharmaceuticals, which demonstrate the Command’s vigilance and synergy with other agencies like the NDLEA.
New Area Controller
The new Area Controller, Comptroller HK Abubakar, emphasized the importance of faith and collaboration, stating, “Everything is God’s doing, God is with us, and will continue to be with us.
” She promised to bring her wealth of experience to bear, ensuring the Command continues to provide an enabling environment for legitimate trade to flourish .

The Command also celebrated the promotion of officers, with Comptroller Olumoh encouraging them to see their promotions as a call to greater service and loyalty to the nation. He urged those yet to be promoted not to lose hope, assuring them that their time will come .
