The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has made history by recording its highest monthly revenue collection of ₦159 billion in August 2025.
This achievement coincided with a grand celebration as 187 officers were decorated with their new ranks.
A Testament to Hard Work
The Command’s Comptroller, Frank Onyeka, attributed the revenue breakthrough to the successful deployment of the indigenous B’Odogwu trade platform, which has significantly improved trade facilitation and enhanced revenue performance.
He praised the commitment of his officers, men of the command, and stakeholders for contributing to the achievement.
Promotions Galore
Comptroller Onyeka congratulated the newly promoted officers, disclosing that 187 of them scaled through in the current exercise, representing about 87% of all those who took the examination from the command.
He urged those yet to be promoted to remain steadfast, assuring them that their turn will come.
Commitment to Excellence
The Comptroller reaffirmed the command’s commitment to trade facilitation, revenue protection, and support for port stakeholders. He expressed delight at the outcome, noting that it was encouraging to see most of his officers succeed.
The command is poised to sustain its performance and continue to make significant contributions to the NCS.

The decoration ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Comptroller Joseph Anani of Ports Terminal Multi-Services Limited (PTML) Command and Comptroller Istifanus Musa, as well as family members of some of the celebrants.
