The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has inaugurated a Trade War Committee to address systemic inefficiencies and exploitative practices at Nigerian ports.
The committee aims to provide credible field intelligence and evidence-based insights to support informed policy decisions and reforms.
Objectives:
Tackle corruption and regulatory excesses
Improve cargo clearance and documentation processes
Enhance transparency and accountability
Support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
The committee comprises experts in trade, law, and technology, and will work closely with higher authorities to drive reforms.
NAGAFF urges cooperation from regulatory agencies and stakeholders to sanitize the system and strengthen Nigeria’s position in global trade.
Advisory to the Federal Government:
Address corruption allegations against port officials
Implement regulatory reforms to improve port operations
Enhance oversight and accountability mechanisms
Support trade facilitation and logistics development
