Chief Osita Chukwu, National Coordinator of the Save Nigeria Freight Forwarders, Importers, and Exporters Coalition (SNFFIEC), has strongly condemned the petition filed by Alhaji Tanko's 100% Compliance Team with the National Security Adviser (NSA). The petition, which alleges wrongdoing in the maritime sector, has been labeled as misleading and baseless by Chief Chukwu. In spite of encountering challenges during data collection, the Tincan Island Port  Command (TIPC) cargo Time Release Study (TRS) is nearing completion and is expected to be released in September, according to Comptroller Dera Nnadi, Customs Area Controller(CAC)  of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone B,has announced the tragic death of Inspector of Customs Hamza Abdullahi Elenwo, who fell victim to a suspected smuggler's vehicle while attempting to evade arrest on Friday, July 12, 2024, in Jigawa State. According to the statement, Inspector Elenwo, was described as a dedicated officer with over a decade year of service, but was fatally injured during a stop and search operation along Daura-Kano Road in Achilafia. The Command also reported a significant increase in export value and volume, with Soya beans leading the pack at N92.059 billion.
