MOT Spits Fire Over Cargo land Evacuation from Lekki Deepsea Port

Minister of Transport Engr Mu’azu Sambo condemned the movement of cargoes through land from Lekki Deepsea port and has therefore charged the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to ensure no cargo movement in and out of new Lekki Deepsea Port takes place unless rail services are available. One scanner not enough for Apapa Port….. says Tanko

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) 100% Compliance Team has insisted that one cargo scanner can not meet up with the huge volume of cargo landing at the premier port at APM Terminals in Apapa Port. The National Coordinator of the Team, Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko has therefore called on the federal government to increase the scanner from one to four, to meet the volume of declarations as well as deploying more Customs officers to the scanning site. Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TICT) workers has being assured that their jobs are secured and can now sleep comfortably as Mr. Etienne Rocher, the Managing Director, affirmed that the company has no plan to sack them.
