The Nation’s economic regulator Nigerian Shipper’s Council(NSC) in collaboration with the Union of African Shipper’s Council (UASC) are to hold the 9th Shippers Day in Lagos Nigeria West Africa.
The program which is slated for three days, is to begin on the 16th of January through the 18th of the same Month 2023 and it is to be declared open by His Excellency the President of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR, while the Honorable minister of Transportation Engr Mu’azu Jaji Sambo is to power the event at the Oriental Hotel Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria.
The theme of the program is “African Continental Free Trade Agreement(AfCFTA): A veritable platform for African Shippers to mainstream into global trade.
The African Shippers’ Day is primarily aimed at creating a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences amongst shippers’ organizations in the West and Central African Sub-regions,
discussions on issues that will improve maritime trade, and disseminating information on the role of Shippers’ Councils and UASC.
During the event members of the UASC are expected to review the AfCFTA modules of operations and to come up with a roadmap on how to address the challenges.
The event will be attended by member countries of the Union of African Shippers’ Councils as well as other countries maintaining associate status with the Union, Shippers and maritime stakeholders.
