In completion of the statutory year of service in the Nigeria Customs Service, the Controller in charge Port Terminal Multi-services Limited PTML Comptroller Ali Mahmoud Ibrahim has honorably relinquished power to next man online in the person of Comptroller Saidu Abba Yusuf to continue to stir the affairs of the Command.
The new Controller, Comptroller Saidu Abba Yusuf joined the Nigeria Customs Service in 1991. He has vast experience spanning over three decades in the Service having impacted positively in various areas where he has served , now assumed office today 5th of June 2023 as the Customs Area Controller CAC of PTML command..
The change of baton event, that has the attendance of senior officers and stakeholders smoothly paved way to a brief handing over ceremony and it all took place at the Command’s conference room at Tincan Island port Apapa Lagos.
The new Controller , Comptroller Abba Saidu Yusuf commended his predecessor for setting up mechanism for increased in revenue collection and strict enforcement and urged all the port users operating in PTML to make compliance a lifestyle.
According to the Controller , compliance saves clearance time, improve revenue collection , even build up the integrity and fast track Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)
The CAC added that voluntary compliance creates a win-win situation for everyone and prevent losses that can result from seizures, demand notices and penalties which comes in the course of enforcement.
Comptroller Yusuf assured the PTML management bonded terminal operators, importers, exporters, freight forwarders and haulage operators of an open door policy in order to sustain and improve on the template of trade facilitation.
He said that the Command will rigorously implement all government policies including those that encourage ease of doing business without compromising national security and government revenue.
In conclusion, the outgoing CAC Comptroller Ibrahim implored senior officers and the stakeholders to extend maximum cooperation to the new Controller.
