Comptroller Umar Assumes Duty at Katsina Area Command Of NCS

The Nigeria Customs Service, Katsina Area Command has welcomed its new Controller in the person of Comptroller Mohammed Abubakar  Umar

Comptroller Umar took over from Compt. MN Musa on the 13 of September 2023 in a brief hand over ceremony that occurred at the command’s  area office in Katsina. This information was released to the media through the command’s Public Relation Officer Balarabe Tahir.

The CAC is a native of Bauchi State, and he holds Bachelor degree in Arts (History ) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira.

Comptroller Umar was enlisted into the Service as an Assistant Superintendent of Customs in 1989 and ever since attended several courses both within and outside the country, also a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria.

He is a seasoned officer with vast experience in various Customs formations, units, and departments, his posting has re-candled the light of hope that the Command will improve on its core mandate of revenue generation, trade facilitation, and smuggling suppression.   

Before his promotion to the rank of Comptroller, he was once an Acting Comptroller Special Duties at the Headquarters Abuja.

He also served as substantive controller of Plateau/Nassarawa/Benue, Kano/Jigawa. Until his present posting, he was Comptroller Admin at the Zonal Headquarters, Zone B.

He  thanked the Ag. CGC and his management team for the privilege to serve the nation as controller of Katsina Area Command, promised to uphold the highest standard of professionalism and work ethics.

In conclusion he charged officers and men of the Command to be disciplined and professional while discharging their duties.
