The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has alerted the public to the existence of fake social media accounts purporting to be his.
Dr. Mobereola, via his verified social media handle @MobereolaD, stated that these unauthorized accounts are not affiliated with him or NIMASA and warned the public to be cautious when interacting with them.
The NIMASA DG emphasized that any entity or individual claiming to act on behalf of the agency or its executive management is false and should be treated with suspicion. He urged the public to verify claims and report any incidents to info@nimasa.gov.ng or law enforcement agencies.
Dr. Mobereola disclaimed any liability for losses incurred due to reliance on these fraudulent accounts, emphasizing the importance of only communicating with official social media platforms.
The public is advised to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
