The Ogun 1 Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has made a significant seizure of 2,693 parcels of cannabis sativa, weighing 1,450 kilograms, with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N172,920,000.
The illicit drugs were concealed in a fabricated compartment, known as a false bottom, of a Mercedes-Benz truck intercepted in Ilaro, Yewa South area of Ogun State.

Reactions:
Comptroller Godwin Otunla, Area Controller of the NCS Ogun 1 Area Command, commended the operatives for their diligence and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating smuggling and cross-border crimes.
The Command has received 13 operational vehicles from the Comptroller-General of Customs to boost its operational capacity.
The CGC’s recent election as Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council was also celebrated, recognizing his visionary leadership and commitment to reform and modernization in the Nigeria Customs Service .
