
The Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Adegboyega Oyetola, has inaugurated the Governing Board of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, charging members to drive accountability and sectoral reform.
The Board, chaired by Dr Ibrahim Shehu Shema, will oversee the Council’s regulatory role in promoting efficiency, fairness, and transparency in port operations .
Objectives:
Strategic Direction: Provide policy guidance and oversight for trade facilitation and cost reduction
Regulatory Efficiency : Enhance port performance, competitiveness, and fairness
Collaboration: Work with Ministry and Council Management to deliver results
Dr Oyetola emphasized the importance of good governance and institutional effectiveness in driving national economic transformation.
The Board members, representing various stakeholders, pledged dedication, professionalism, and integrity in discharging their responsibilities .
