Following statics indications , the Nigeria Customs Service SEME Customs Command will exceed its given revenue target for the year 2023. Going by the figures already recorded in its first three quarters report that is yet  to end, Seme Command  has successfully garnered in N1.904, 459, 390.77 revenue  that stands at 97.2% out of N1,960,000,000 allotted target for the year 2023. In its bid to a significant development of ‘New Customs’ the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has taken a decisive action in response to selected Authorized Dealer Banks failing to meet Service-Level Agreements (SLAs) related to Customs Duty and statutory charge remittances. The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tin Can Island Command has arrested an importer Boniface Ike, for offering $54,330 (N50m) bribe to officers of the Tin-Can Island Command of the Service over the seizure of two 40ft containers laden with illicit  drugs that was  imported into the country from India. The Nigeria Customs Service in its bid for the reformation of “New Customs” has taken a decision of  Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) during the 6th management meeting of the service on 23rd of August 2023.
