The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)(Ogun 1 Area Command has intercepted 1,436 used Pneumatic tyres, 569 parcels of Cannabis Sativa, weighing a total of 1,179 kilograms as well as 3,149 bags of foreign parboiled rice, each weighing 50 kilograms. The seizures were made alongside 32 vehicles used for conveyance, among other items.The Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the seizures amounts to N241,977,943.00. The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has expressed concern over the recent resurgence of piracy incidents and security threats in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG) during the first half of the year 2023.
